When a young woman sets out to repair an abandoned boat, memories and emotions once buried resurface, and a face from the past returns.

The Mariner, directed by Una Schenker, is a silent 2D animated short film created by a small team of budding artists living in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The film received an award at the Vision Feast Film Festival (best NZ Student work), a draft selection and excellence award at The Rookie Awards, and was a finalist at the New Zealand Youth Film Festival (Best 19-21 Film). The Mariner will be released early 2025
